This wine is all about transparency of site, and Riesling is arguably the best variety on earth for this as it seems to reflect the place it is grown so clearly no matter what we do in the cellar. The Porongurup Range is a beautiful and unique place, known for its incredible biodiversity and the massive granite structures that dominate the landscape. As we have said before we are very fortunate to have a parcel of Riesling here, dry grown and planted in 1985 on the elevated Springviews Vineyard. The ancient granitic geology of the site, southern aspect and cooling influence during the growing season of the Southern ocean contributes to the energetic, mineral and lifted nature of the Springviews Riesling. The wine is aromatic and fruit lifted but with classic bath salt minerality we have come to know from this site.
